*Dr Bentley will be presenting on Alice Munro's work as a student at UWO: “Lost Without His Wife”: Alice Munro’s “The Widower” (1951) The third of the three short stories that Alice Munro published when she was a student at the University of Western Ontario from 1949 to 1951, “The Widower" is a stylistically and psychologically complex study of a man whose loss of his wife leaves him bewildered and compelled to confront his life’s unrealized hopes and dreams. This will be a part of the opening reception on Friday June 5 in Wingham.
