Jennifer Robson is the author of seven internationally bestselling historical novels, all of them set in the first half of the 20th century. In her work, she relies upon her experience as a doctoral student at the University of Oxford to ensure her works of historical fiction are as authentic, accurate, and nuanced as possible. In this masterclass, Jennifer will explain how she approaches the planning, research, writing, and editing stages of her work. She will also engage with participants about issues relating to their own research and its importance in regard to their works in progress.

Please note that this masterclass will focus on research approaches and methodologies and will not cover publishing-related issues (eg finding an agent, preparing a manuscript for submission, etc).

She holds a doctorate in British economic and social history from Saint Antony’s College, University of Oxford, where she was a Commonwealth Scholar and an SSHRC Doctoral Fellow. She lives in Toronto, Canada, with her husband and children.
